DUBLIN DEATH PATROL: New Album ‘Death Sentence’ Lands at #1 on the CMJ Most Added Chart in the First Week!

Thrash Metal super-group DUBLIN DEATH PATROL announced that their new release, "Death Sentence", has landed at the #1 spot on the Most Added Chart at CMJ (College Music Journal).

DUBLIN DEATH PATROL released their new album Death Sentence with Mascot Records yesterday. Additionally, the band re-issued their previously self-released full-length album DDP4Life. Earlier this week, MetalInsider.net posted a track cut from Death Sentence, which can be streamed now at this location.

The collaboration of longtime friends and members of the DUBLIN DEATH PATROL started in 1980, and eventually led to Testament vocalist Chuck Billy teaming up with fellow Dublin California ragers Willy Lange (Rampage, Laaz Rockit), Steve ZETRO Souza (original Testament vocalist/Exodus vocalist) and three of the Billy Brothers as well as some other local Dublin boys. After six months of writing, arranging and restructuring new and old songs from several years of performing together, the guys went into the studio in 2005 to record the first DUBLIN DEATH PATROL album, DDP4Life, through strains and pains with Vinnie Wojno. In 2011, DUBLIN DEATH PATROL went back into the studio with the same team to record their crushing second album, Death Sentence.

Interview: Abibial from Imago Mortis

Interview Though Email with: Abibial

Why start a black metal band?
"In 1994 we heard a the spiritual vocation that guided us toward the exploration of the dark side of the soul through the occult practices."

What is the Metal scene like in Italy?
"The extreme metal scene in Italy is currently very wide, in our city Bergamo, located in the north of Italy, we are about fifteen devoted extreme metal bands: Black Metal, Death, Doom and Old Thrash Metal. Although we have this good scene we have some difficulties: few spaces for live exhibitions, no labels or honest promoters or organizers, many of their using the fuck system “pay to play” in a mafia-style, but I am sure that in the time, our real underground resistance will destroy this system!"

Why did that band choose to come out with a Live Demo?
"Because in those days we had no money in sufficiency Tobe able to pay a recording studio and a live recording was a fast method to capture our black art."

How would you compare the band's two full length albums, Una Foresta Dimenticataand Ars Obscura?
"A Forgotten Forest is an album of pure traditional Black Metal, cold, black and occult, whileArs Obscura is an album more negative and occult, n introspective journey in our esoteric tradition of northern Italy, where we alsouse the Latin language and our local dialect, one mark of our identity and esoteric particularity."

What are the future plans for this band?
"Soon it will be realized a 7” entitled "Sgàbula" under the sign of Drakkar Productions (www.drakkar666.com)which means “Malediction” and speak of witchcraft and Sabbath tradition of the Alps and our region, the Lombardy, you feel the odor of burning flesh and the witchesto prepare rituals! Thank you for the interview and support, for more info www.imagomortis.net"

Interview: Jordan Cult from Thoreous

Interview Though Email with: Jordan Cult

Can you give a short history of the band?
"The recipe of this sodomized boys' choir has always been a fuckin’ trade secret. What can be disclosed is that it stems from an occult semen donation of a Babylonian shoplifter who decided not to commit suicide after talking four hours to an eight headed prays fraxinella on a Thursday seven a.m. It is also rumoured that the ghost of Mrs. Fraxinella’s hermaphroditic granddaughter lost an important poetry slam with Helen Hanfstaengl back in 1923 and later became a dycon of Mick Mouz’s transsexual flagellatrice – the Bear Jew – a pink pepper zealot. After been recognized as a dolly-butt-plug called “SS fool" in 1976 it vainly tried to catch the public’s attention by a 2003 found subsidiary of the batty boy underground organisation URY. The problem of that useless afro-judeo emo-maiden a cappella technocombo was not confined to the fact that both founder-wimps haven’t been managing to play their instruments properly to date. The pale-faced ne'er-do-well pickle smokers even failed butchering their flutes so that you even could not call it crutch-play-noise of anus-tickling knife-dance or some such. What remained was a foolish kinda late-M-mood bill-shut. You
know what happens to class clown’s failing to challenge attention: Necessity begets ingenuity!! Let’s call this the Old Testament’s summary."

After The New Testament can shortly be described as a recording of four and a half times demonstrating how to beat their meat by blustering silly & soiling their pants with children's songs, the two sinners unearthed Double O status in collaboration with a hairy drudge on 2007’s MC “Modern Prays from the Olden Babylon” (Bubonic Doom). 2008 those bollocksed bastards established scruffy fuss on “Der Letzte Lässt Das Licht Aus” which was superb buttsex still hurting unreleased (to happen any time soon). Not until later in 2011 all re-fingered singsongs of the 07’s been wasted as the triple-EP-compilation “Acroedema Syndrome Cycle” (Bubonic Doom)."

How would you describe your band?
"During the week it’s pretty much like cringeworthy mucky pups farting in a hurricane. From Monday to Sunday it feels more like pitiful wannabes frowning like pranksters believin’ the crispy cunnies are crazy for some dirty words. For the remainder of this week we’re just small-time boneheads mock marketing the band with pathetic English, the aid of aggressive self-abasement and an official announcement that this interview will be the lyrics for the 10th anniversary album. Strewth! Cheapo angel Wont: “You promised you'd never tell”; Cheapo angel Toot: “Shut the fuck up!” The rest of the time we use to unmask a veracious kneeslapping barrage of punchlines by admitting that we’re only pluralizing ourselves to hide the fact that we’ve actually been reduced to a one-man show, which abuses this goddam interview for the notice that we’re actually looking for new band pussies. Wanna be a honeybee? Getbusy and join us!"

What are some of the bands that influenced the band's music?
"We’re basically inspired by musicians like Dany la Katzenburger, Carmen Geiß, Älexänder Märcüs, Ämigös, Icke und Er, Hegel Schneider and Lüdo Lindenzwerg. Musically we’re inspired by the sounds of classics like Wirr Sind Helden, Band Ohne Samen, Altar Schützt Vor Torheit Nicht, as well as quite uncharted styles from e.g. Schiss Uff Anders Dudel, 7höRä0ü5 Deutscht Töricht or Klotzpülung 689 Bösexmösex."

What is the message behind your music?
"Given the announcement above, there is no doubt that the words in use here themselves provide evidence of the fact that all this is about the eeriness of idiosyncratic selfreferentiality: There's no way around; and since I'm here let me install this quote straightaway as the message of the anniversary tape. But to be honest, the real message is a sound massage. As we love to be a prude in the sübcültürsäünäsä with Christian fundamentalist headlamps to paste dino stickers on militant pacifists preventing intellectual movements from being woehumbled by the möönlight jölly-clüb making point mütations to evilsätän & franzbrötchen language-games, we should emphasize that we’ve only come to make müsic ‘cause we didn’t found the fitting one out there. The enjoyment of ourselves used ever to be the sole claim; what fuckin’ else should we care? – Oh shit, forgive me, I didn’t check my bank account today… ähmm can you wait a minute? My bread stinks like grandma’s fucker!"

When should we expect a full-length album?
"In something like a middle-term there should be the releasing of “Der Letzte Lässt Das Licht Aus” as well as the anniversary garbage, which ironically is being constructed right now, even as we speak and in the true sense of the word, if you take my meaning… For now there’s the split “The Grace of Pettiness” with slack rockin’ Black Crow King to be released via Bad God Music, which is gonna self-pityingly mindfuckin’ the daisies’ hop-hip with hindoo doom reggae cock’ oh jam-boo and the whole caboodle. Son of a bitch, we’re so god-awful fun this early late-night nappy bucket… we're the utmost stale moll of mother suckin’ yehööääiüüiiiiii of the germanophone kröhnkite…"

Interview: Vakka from The Black Coffins

The Black Coffins - Photo

Interview Though Email with: Vakka

How did the band come up with the name 'The Black Coffins'?
"When I and J. Martin (guitar) spoke about starting the band, he was still living in Sweden, where he stayed for one year. During this time some riffs and ideas about how the band should sound. Of course, the name came in one of these conversations.
I was watching to Werner Herzog´s "Nosferatu, The Vampyre" [1979], and in one scene he sends The Black Coffins from the castle to the city. The coffins are filled with rats and the idea is to destroy the village with diseases.
I thought the name sounded simple, straight and just carried the message we wanted. So I suggested it and he liked the idea right from the start."

Just listen to the song 'Sunsets in a Tomb Sky' what was the game plan record this song?
"The song is fast and straight. A monolithic piece in this album and that´s the way we wanted our songs. It is very special for us, cause it was the first time we worked with Dmitri Globa, a russian musician, now based in Egypt. He used to play in a funeral drone act called Phurpa. He is one of the most talented musicians alive nowdays and i interviewed him for my blog and we became friends, so i asked him if he could write this piece specially for us, and then he did and gave us.
So we had an intro for that song that made it really homogeneous. I think the intro + the song + it´s tittle really fits and delivers the whole ideia of what we are trying to achieve with our music."

What is the overall theme of the song?
"The end of all, not only human life, but everything... from its very center of earth to the cosmos. Eternal darkness, dying of suns, stars and the rotting of our decrepit blue sky. Most of our songs deals with this. I am really interested in dirges, burial ceremonies and i try to read all about it from every culture, and it try to bring it to a newer level.
Our next album is entittled Dead Sky Sepulchre, a straight mention to the tibetan funeral ceremony Sky Burial. Sunsets in a Tombsky wraps it all."

When should we expect some new music?
"Our debut full lenght album is done, we will release it via Black Hole Productions. We will wait a until it gets born next month. This album has a few amazing collaborations with really special musicians like Milozs Gassan (Morne) singing Chambers of Eternal Sleep, Marissa Martinez (Repulsion) in a song called Dead Planets, James (Facada) wrote the lyrics and sung in Transition: Compulsory and once again our friend Dmitri worked with us. He did 3 interludes this time, which are about 12 minutes of drones, tibetan rituals and all of his stuff with myself editing and mixing up these parts."

Interview: Cody Hancock from Predominant Mortification

Interview Though Email with: Cody Hancock
The band started as a one-man band, Why did the band change to a full band?
"I feel like there is an element that a full band brings to the stage that can't be achieved as a one-man act. The other one-man bands are awesome but I feel that a full band is the best direction for Predominant Mortification"

Why start a brutal death metal band?
"I love how intense the music is. I do have another band that isn't as heavy but I have love death metal since I first heard it. And for me, the more intense the better."

What is the message behind your music?
"I'm sure some will find this contradictory to my lyrics and song titles, but I want everyone to just have fun and enjoy the music. Be that by moshing, headbanging or any way you would enjoy music. It's an outlet for everyday life."

What is the furture for this band?
"I hope there is a big future for the band. We are lining up some tours in the future. Maybe not the near or immediate future but sometime by the end of the year or next year."

When should we expect some new music?
"We are working on new music as we speak. So hopefully by mid October, I would say."

When the members are not making music what are they doing?
"Working. [Laughs] But hanging out is probably the most popular of past times."

Interview: Mikael, Stefan, Andreas from Captain Crimson

Interview Though Email with: Mikael, Stefan, Andreas

You are a fairly new band, how would you describe your band to some one that has never heard of you?
Stefan: "I think all of us have our roots and our inspiration in the music from the sixties and the seventies. I am talking about band such as The Grand Hogs, Blue Cheer, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Jethrou Tull, Cactus and so on. I guess the lyrics are about people like you and me."

Micke: I agree with Stefan, we have a lot of common inspiration sources although there is some differences to. Me for one take a lot of my inspiration from all sorts of jazz. So there is a lot of things to discover with our music.
We're quite an easy going band, the main thing is to have a blast every time we play a venue or even when we're rehearsing. And we always do!"

Andreas: "Difficult question! But this it is whats so fun with this band. That we have so many different music style that makes us sound like captain crimson.
One thing is for sure, we are all in love with music from the 60s and 70s. So if you like classic rock you will love Captain Crimson!"

How did the band come up with their name?
Stefan : "I am not sure about this part in the bands short history. (Laugh) I think I were sitting at home and checking out some clip on YouTube called Captain Crimson, and the name was a really cool band name."

Micke: "Yeah, I think it was Stefan who came up with the name and we all liked it. I think we had some other suggestions but I can't remember them right now..."

How did you start this band?
Stefan: "I asked Micke and Anders if they were interested to play with me and they were. They were playing in other bands at that time but we started out  jamming and we felt that there was something really good in there. After a couple of months I meet Andreas at a party and I knew he was really good on lead guitar and asked him if he wanted to join us. And he did!"

Where can some one find your music?
Stefan: "You can buy our album in your favorite record store or net shops.
But our label Transubstans records got their own record store called recordheaven.net"

Micke: "Yeah, check out Record Heaven. There's some really good stuff there.
You can also pre order our album right here http://www.recordheaven.net/index.cfm?x=browseSearch&ID=&iID=137336&sc=&ob=tl&so=ASC&pp=50&pn=1&sl=true"

How would you describe your deput album "Dancing Madly Backwards"?
Stefan. "Heavy Blues riffs with a touch of doom, someone else, what do you say guys?"

Micke: "Mhm, there is some really high octane bluesrock. But there is a lot to discover, hard to tell. You really need to listen to it to discover all the sweet stuff we planted in there."

How did you come up with that name?
Stefan: "It’s a track from a Captain Beyond album from 1972 I think? Not one of my favorite songs but it’s a really good name by the way. We know that people can criticize the choice of name but we are not the first band in space to do a thing like that. And Captain Beyond is a hell of a band right!"

Micke: "Captain Beyond is one hell of a band! Someone of us mentioned the title "Dancing Madly Backwards" and we really liked it. It felt like it was the right thing to name the album."

How do you feel about that album?
Stefan: "I have played in a lot of bands but never been so proud as I am today when I am playing with Captain Crimson. I guess you can hear that on the album. I think that I am talking for everyone when I say that. And we made this songs very fast after we first meet. They just came to us."

Micke: I think it's a killer album, even though we have played all those songs over and over and over a thousands of times I still like them a lot. They are really fun songs to play and they are really great songs to listen to.

Andreas: "Everything on the album from making songs to recording all the songs went very quickly and was great fun to do. Can't wait until we get out on the road and show the world who Captain Crimson is! I am super proud of the album!"

When should we expect some new music?
Stefan: "As soon as possible! We already have a bunch of new songs (laugh)"

Micke: "We can record it tomorrow and have a new album out soon!"
