Everything Heavy Metal: There is the Band: Volbeat (With Script)

There is the Band: Volbeat (With Script)

I remember the first time I saw this band. It was in a Metal Hammer magazine. That band was quoted to be a mixture of Johnny Cash and Metallica. At this time in my life I was Metallica was my favorite Metal band if all time. To this day Metal is still one of my favorite Metal bands. So, with that comparison to Metallica I had to give this band a listen to. And I am Happy that I did.

It started off with just two songs, A Warriors Call and Still Counting. A Warriors Call just had this emotion to it that will get you ready for anything. It quickly became a song that I had to listen to every day before I went to work or before I was going to school. It just got me ready for the day.

Play part of a warriors call.

Then Still Counting I really just enjoyed the intro to this song. "Counting all the assholes in the room, I am differently not alone"  I remember texting my friend to let him know that the intro to the song is about us.

Play intro to still counting.

But the song that really showed me the Metallica and Johnny Cash mix was Sad Man Tongue. The intro to this just had that Johnny Cash swagger to it. Then it kicks in. The Metallica feel. Differently one of my favorite songs by this band.

Play Sad Man's Tongue

What really got me into this back was seeing them at Rockfest in KC. The band opened up with a Warriors Call. Fans were rushing the stage. The energy the band played out and how the fans were reacting to it I couldn't help but to start listening to more of there music.

Since I got into the band they released two albums. Outlaw Gentlemen and Shady Lady's and Seal the Deal and Lets Boogie. Seal the Deal is defiantly my favorite out of the two. I feel like the music had more of an energy to the songs. Just listen to Seal the Deal and tell me it doesn't have energy to it ,

Play seal the deal.

Volbeat was formed in 2001 in Copenhagen. Since the start the band formed they released 6 full-length albums. First release was in 2005 The Strength / The Sound / The Songs. Had a really good cover of I Only Wanna by With You.

Play I only wanna by with you.

In 2007 they released there second album Rock the Rebel/Metal the Devil. Which has the song Sad Man Tongue that I really enjoyed by them. Another fun thing about this sing I thought that this was a cover song.

Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood was the band's third album. Released in 2008. Noted about this album is it the first album to have the song Still Counting.

The fourth album by Volbeat has to be my favorite album. Beyond Hell / Above Heaven. Released in 2010. The band had the song Still Counting,on this album as well.  Featured A Warriors Call my favorite song by this band. Evelyn is on this album. Probably the bands most different song. The sing 7 shots featuring Mille Petrozza of Kreator and Michael Denner ofMercyful Fate / King Diamond.

Play Evelyn

Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies released in 2013 is actually the first album by the band that I listened to from start to finish. It has a lot of my favorite Volbeat songs on there, Dead but rising, the nameless one, the hangman's body count, Lola Montez and my favorite sing off the album The Sinner is You.

Play the sinner is you.

Seal the Deal & Let's Boogie was released in 2016. I enjoy this album so much. It has a great energy to the album. Seal the Deal is an amazing song. This is a must listen to album.

I really enjoy listening to this band. They have a lot of sing that are staples in my playlists.
